By the way: the borders of the dress were printed by hand using the block print technique - a classic printing technique that was applied as early as 3500 BC and refined and perfected under the Mughal rule in India. Even today, this elaborate fabric printing technique is part of the fashionable repertoire of Indian fabrics and the centuries-old tradition of block printing is kept alive, especially in the northern regions of India.
